Generate a herringbone gear (two opposite-hand helical halves)
Two opposite-hand helical halves meeting in a chevron. The opposing helix angles cancel the axial thrust a plain helical gear produces, so the shaft needs no thrust bearing — which is why herringbones are a favourite in printed drives.
