Logos, silhouettes, icons and line art with clear edges. Move the threshold until the preview shows the shapes you want; white artwork on a dark or transparent background is picked up too. Photos work better as a relief or lithophane.
Thin strokes trace faithfully, but they can come out thinner than a nozzle can print. The warning appears when much of the outline is under 0.8 mm at the width you chose: make the image wider, or trace bolder lines.
Yes. A traced outline arrives as editable extrudes with holes kept, so you can change its depth, add a base or cut it into a plate. A relief or lithophane keeps its width, depth and smoothing adjustable.
