Outgrown TinkerCAD? OwlCAD is free browser-based parametric CAD with editable history, edge fillets, real measurement and STEP. Import your STL and keep going.
TinkerCAD is a great place to start. When you need editable history, real fillets, exact dimensions, and STEP files, OwlCAD picks up there, still free, still in your browser, with no install. Bring your models with you; you won’t have to rebuild them from scratch.

Choose STL or OBJ — or SVG for a 2D shape.
Or drag the file straight onto the build plate.
Units are detected and corrected on the way in. An SVG arrives as an editable extrude you can keep shaping.
The features people tell us they came here for after outgrowing a drag-and-drop modeler.
A real parametric history: re-open a past sketch, boolean, or dimension and the model rebuilds downstream. In TinkerCAD, changing a parameter means starting the shape over.
Round or bevel a single edge, or every edge of a part: fillets that hold their exact radius instead of distorting when you stretch the shape.
Type a length and angle as you sketch, add coincident / parallel / distance constraints, and measure the model itself: a hole’s radius and diameter, an arc’s true length, a face’s area, an angle, or the smallest gap between two parts. Precision, not eyeballing the grid.
Import and export solid STEP B-rep, plus STL, 3MF, OBJ, GLB, SVG and DXF, so your work flows to Fusion, SolidWorks, FreeCAD, a laser cutter, or a CNC and back. TinkerCAD exports mesh only.
Flag overhangs, thin walls, and whether the model fits your printer’s build volume — with hollowing, drainage holes, and auto-orient — before it reaches your slicer. When a part is simply too big, cut it across X, Y or Z into halves that key back together.
Your projects are private by default, autosave to the cloud, and keep a version history you can roll back. Share a read-only link only when you choose to.
OwlCAD runs a hosted MCP server, so Claude Code, Claude Desktop or Cursor can build a part on your account — authoring a real parametric tree, running it through the CAD kernel, rendering it to check its own work, and handing back a print-ready file plus a project you can open and edit. Part of Pro, and it spends no AI credits.
Want to describe a part and get an editable starting point? AI generation is included with OwlCAD Pro.
Each opens in the live editor as a parametric model you can resize, combine, and print.
Open the editor and keep building. No download, no sign-up to start.
