X-ray view

See through solids to inner geometry.

X-ray makes objects semi-transparent so you can see and select geometry hidden inside or behind other shapes.

Section view does the other half: it cuts the model open along a plane so you can look straight at a wall, a bore or a pocket. Turn it on with the Section button beside X-ray, pick the axis to cut across (X, Y or Z), and drag the slider to move the cut through the model; the cut face is shown solid, in red, exactly as the geometry is there. Flip keeps the other side. It is a view only — the model, its export and the Print check are unchanged.

  1. Toggle X-ray on.
  2. Solids render semi-transparent.
  3. Toggle off to return to solid shading.
