2D view
Switch to a flat, top-down drafting view.
The 2D view locks the camera flat to a plane — the build plate by default, or a work plane if you have one set — and disables orbit, so lines stay true and nothing skews with perspective. It is handy any time you want a clean plan view: tracing a reference image, sketching precisely, or checking alignment. It is a view mode only; it changes nothing about the model.
- Click 2D in the view dock (or set a work plane first to lock 2D to that face).
- The camera goes flat and orthographic — orbit is off, so you only pan and zoom.
- Click 2D again (or Exit 2D view) to return to the 3D perspective view.
