A screw-mounted J-hook — and the first project whose print check finds a real problem.

Four boxes, two holes, and one uncomfortable truth. The hook is modelled **lying on its back** — plate flat, hook rising — because that is the easy way to look at it and to type coordinates for. It is not how it prints: the underside of the arm is a flat horizontal overhang, and printed in that orientation it would sag. That is the lesson. Up to now the print check has confirmed things were fine; here it reports a genuine problem, and the fix is not to change the model but to turn it over. Lay it on its back so the plate is against the bed and the hook points up, and the overhang goes away — Auto-orient will find that orientation for you. The holes are worth noticing too. Rather than a cylinder, use the Screw hole shape: it already carries what an M3 screw needs, including the wider counterbore so the head finishes flush instead of standing proud. And because the plate lies in the XY plane, the hole bores straight down through it — nothing in this model needs rotating, which is why every value is typed rather than dragged.   1. Add a Box 34 × 70 × 5 — the plate that goes against the wall.
  2. Add a Box 14 × 14 × 40 at Y −26, Z 5 for the post, then 14 × 34 × 10 at Y −12, Z 35 for the arm.
  3. Add a Box 14 × 10 × 16 at Y 0, Z 25 — the tip that hangs back down and makes it a J.
  4. Select everything and Union the four boxes into one hook.
  5. Add a Screw hole at Y 26, duplicate it to Y 8, and Subtract both.
  6. Run the print check — then act on what it says.
