Build a name keychain

Your name in raised 3D text on a plate with a ring loop — a printable keychain from scratch.

A name keychain is the classic first print: fast, personal, and it shows the whole workflow — 3D text, combining shapes, and a print check — in one small project. Follow the video, or open Help → Build a name keychain in the editor to build it hands-on, step by step.

  1. Add a 3D Text shape and type your name in the Properties panel — keep it short so it prints cleanly.
  2. Add a Box and flatten it to about 3 mm to make a backing plate, so the letters end up on one solid piece.
  3. Add a Torus for the ring loop and move it so it overlaps one end of the plate.
  4. Select everything and Union the text, plate, and ring into a single body.
  5. Run the print check to catch thin letters or overhangs, then export an STL or 3MF.
