Pattern (array)

Repeat a selection in a line or circle.

Pattern repeats a selection: a linear pattern along a direction with a count and spacing, or a circular pattern with a count and angle.

A bolt circle. A circular pattern turns about its Centre: the selection itself (each copy turns in place), the Origin, or a Point you type. Pick in view takes the point from the model instead: click a round edge, such as a hub’s rim or a hole, for its centre (the pattern then turns about that circle’s own axis), or click a part for its middle. Away from the selection, a Radius sets how far out the copies sit: type 40 and the original moves 40 mm from the centre first, in the same step, so six holes at 360° land evenly on a 40 mm circle. For a quick ring by hand, you can also press Ctrl+D, turn the copy about the centre, and keep pressing Ctrl+D.

1. Select the objects to repeat.
2. Open Arrange → Pattern.
3. Choose linear or circular, then set count and spacing or angle.
