Parts list and exploded view

Count what an assembly is made of, and pull it apart to show how it goes together.

The Assembly panel lists every part the model needs and how many of each. A component used several times counts as one line with a quantity, so ten of a bracket reads as one row saying x10 rather than ten rows. Press Measure to add volume, mass and cost, using the same filament settings as the 3D Print panel — so the two never disagree. Download CSV saves the list as a spreadsheet for ordering. The Separation slider pulls the assembly apart along the mates you have created, which is what makes it read as instructions: a bolt slides out along its own axis rather than drifting sideways, and the part sitting on the build plate stays put while the rest lifts off it. It is a view only — your model is unchanged, and exports stay assembled. Save image captures it as a PNG for build instructions.

  1. Open the Assembly panel.
  2. Press Measure to fill in volume, mass and cost.
  3. Drag Separation to pull the assembly apart.
