Auto-orient

Rotate a part to a good print orientation.

Auto-orient turns a part so one of its flat sides faces the build plate, and seats it there, in one click. It picks the pose that prints shortest, which for most parts is also the one that needs least support — but height is what it measures, so on an unusual shape run the print check afterwards to see the overhangs it did not weigh.

1. Select an object.
2. Open Orient → Auto-orient.
3. It rotates to a flatter, more printable pose.
