Drop to plate

Seat a part down onto the build surface.

Drop to plate moves the selection down until it rests on the build surface, so nothing floats above or sinks below the plate. With a work plane set, the same row reads Drop to work plane and moves each part along the plane’s normal until its lowest point touches the plane. Seat on part below (Shift+D) sets each part on top of the part underneath it instead, or on the plate when there is nothing below.

1. Select an object.
2. Open Orient → Drop to plate, or press D.
3. It moves straight down onto Z = 0.
