Export for printing

Save print-ready files from the File menu.

Export evaluates the full model with the Manifold kernel and writes a watertight mesh, so what you preview matches what you print. Each format has its own help entry in the Export submenu.

3MF writes each top-level part as its own object, so your slicer can select, move and assign a filament to each one. Turn off "3MF: separate parts as objects" in the Export submenu to fuse them into a single solid instead. STL has no way to express separate objects and is always one fused mesh - one of the reasons to prefer 3MF for printing.

  1. Open the File menu and choose Export.
  2. Pick a format.
  3. The evaluated, watertight solid is written out.
