Ask OwlCAD

Describe what you are trying to make, in your own words, and be told which tools to use.

Help search matches words, so it only finds a tool if you already know its name. Ask OwlCAD is for when you do not: describe the outcome — “I need a hole in this box that an M3 bolt passes through” — and it points you at the right tools and the guides that cover them.

It answers only from the OwlCAD guides, and links the ones it used so you can check the source. It can still be wrong, so treat the linked guide as the authority. It never changes your model on its own; the most it does is hand a suggested instruction to the AI panel, which you review and send yourself.

It is a Pro feature and asking costs no AI credits — there is a generous daily limit instead, so questions are never a reason to hold back.

1. Open Help from the header, or press ? — then choose Ask OwlCAD at the top of the list.
2. Type what you are trying to do in plain language. You do not need to know what the tool is called.
3. Read the answer, then follow any of the guides it links to for the full walkthrough.
4. If the answer describes an edit the editor could make for you, use Let the AI do it — it opens the AI panel with the request filled in, and waits for you to send it.
