Duplicate and delete

Copy objects and remove them.

Duplicate clones the selection in place so you can drag the copy away. Then press Ctrl+D again and the next copy repeats whatever you did to the last one — moved it, turned it about any point, or scaled it. A copy dragged 20 mm along X makes an evenly spaced row; a copy turned 60° about a centre, copied five more times, closes a full circle round that centre. Selecting anything else starts over. Standard copy/cut/paste also works through the system clipboard.

  1. Select an object.
  2. Press Ctrl+D (or Duplicate) to copy it in place.
  3. Press Delete to remove the selection.
