Extrude a face

Push a face out to add a boss, or in to cut a pocket — or pick it and move it with a gizmo.

Extrude face sweeps a flat face and fuses the result into the solid — growing a boss outward or cutting a pocket inward. Drag a face for a straight push along its normal, or click it to pick it and drag the move gizmo: pushing along the normal adds or removes material, while an angled move leans the new walls. Unlike Push/Pull (which resizes a primitive dimension) it works on any solid, including booleans and imported meshes.

  1. Activate Extrude face.
  2. Drag a flat face outward for a boss or inward for a pocket (a ghost previews it).
  3. Or click a face to pick it, then drag the gizmo to move it along any axis.
  4. Fine-tune the distance in the Properties panel.
